Accounts and access

Planning Poker works for both guests and signed‑in users. Access rules depend on who created the session.

Guest sessions

  • Anyone can create a free session without signing up.
  • Anyone with the link can join as a guest.
  • If a user is currently signed in to Mumu and needs to join a guest session, they should open the link in an incognito/private browser window.
  • Guest avatars are auto‑generated and can’t be changed.
  • Guest creators can choose from three built‑in scales or provide a one‑off custom scale. Custom values aren’t saved for future sessions.

Organization sessions (signed‑in)

  • Sessions created by signed‑in users are restricted to members of their organization.
  • Signed‑in users manage reusable scales for the organization under Planning poker > Scales.
  • Defaults (Fibonacci, Modified Fibonacci, T‑Shirt Sizes) are available and can be edited, renamed, or deleted.
  • Profile avatars are used in sessions and can be changed from your account profile.

Joining and inviting

  • Use Invite players to copy a shareable link to the current session.
  • Up to 16 participants can join any session (guest or organization).
  • Any participant can reveal cards during a round; it’s not limited to the host.
  • There are no view‑only observers. Everyone in the session is a participant and counts toward the 16‑person limit.
  • Sessions expire automatically after 24 hours; expired links stop working.

Starting points

  • From the Planning Poker landing page, click Start a Free Session.
  • From within the app (signed‑in), open Planning poker and click New session.
